An accident inside a footwear factory in Três Coroas, Rio Grande do Sul, caused the death of an employee and left another injury . Viviani Aparecida de Moraes, 54, could not resist the injuries and died on Tuesday (6). She was hospitalized at the Christ the Redeemer Hospital in Porto Alegre since April 26, when the accident happened.
According to the Três Coroas Shoemakers Union, another employee, who would also have been injured in the accident, is admitted to a hospital in Parobé and has an improvement in the health condition.
Reports of company employees made to the union point out that the workers would be doing extra time on Saturday, the day of the accident. “On the spot, they would have chemical pots (Thinner, solvents and paints) that were used to clean the shoes. Then, when handling the products, the accident happened,” says Erni Rinker, president of the Três Coroas Shoemakers Union.
Viviani had second and third degree burns in 80% of the body, according to Erni. The other employee had 50% of the body reached.
The Union called the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) to conduct a survey on site and investigate possible irregularities in working conditions.
According to Erni, the union is “always in direct contact with our directors, who work within companies so that this type of accident does not occur, but unfortunately it happened.” According to him, there was no complaint related to the company.
