Woman floated for 2 days in a frozen lake on a plastic mattress – She was miraculously saved

A woman spent two days floating on a plastic layer air in the middle of a lake of Oklahoma under snow conditions before being dragged back to shore and rescued. The trapped lady was spotted on the train tracks near Lake Texoma, one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States, last Thursday 3/2.

Train driver Cristhian Sosa and train engineer Justin Luster were traveling south on a freight train from Mandil, Oklahoma, Irving, Texas, when they saw the woman waving her arms in an attempt to get attention by screaming. for help and holding the air mattress, the KRMG reported.

“She was literally lying on the ground waving one hand, basically her left hand, the one that was not stuck to her jacket and was asking for help, so we immediately understood that she was injured and needed help.” said Sosa.

The crew stopped the train to help the woman. The woman, who said her name was Connie, told train officials she had been floating for two days after being separated from a man she was with. The two of them used the air mattress as rafts to reach a boat on the lake.

The OHP said the woman was floating almost 2 miles in the air mattress before landing and finding her way to the railroad tracks. The man she was with had to reach the shore to find a place to warm up.

The woman showed signs of hypothermia when she was found, her arms were cut off and she was bleeding and had difficulty walking, the BNSF told NBC.

“It was a bit unexpected, you know, with the weather we had, we were the only train out there at the time; and I’m glad we could have been there when we were,” Luster said.
