A woman was arrested on Friday (11) by the Federal Police (PF) at Viracopos International Airport in Campinas (SP), after agents found that she had ingested 100 cocaine capsules . The suspect was trying to board flight to the city of Orly, France.
The arrest took place during Operation Shield, with the support of the IRS, which acts to repression of acts of illicit interference in civil aviation and crackdown on crimes, especially national and international drug trafficking.
X-ray images of the chest and abdomen showed the capsules inside in the woman’s body. To date, nine arrests have been held in the act, according to the PF.
In 2024, Operation Gate eight resulted in 43 flagrant, with 49 people arrested, plus 330 kg of seized drugs. Already during the year 2023, Operation Sentinel resulted in 51 flagrant, with 55 people arrested, 261 kg of seized drugs, 113 kg of cocaine and 148 kg of skunk.
