A young woman, aged 22, was rescued in Brasília, last Thursday night (23), after being held in private prison by her girlfriend. The victim had moved to the Federal District due to his relationship with the woman he had met online.
According to the Paraná Civil Police (PCPR), the woman no longer maintained contact with her family after the move. On May 22, she sent a message to her mother informing her that she was being held in private prison and was prevented from using her phone.
“We got in touch and requested support from the PCDF, which began to take action based on the information provided. They managed to identify who was the perpetrator who was keeping the victim in private prison and rescued her”, explained delegate Fabiano Oliveira.
Furthermore, according to the PCPR, the woman was prevented from using her telephone, speaking to family members and leaving the house unaccompanied. After the rescue, the victim reported that she was also a victim of threats and attacks and that she worked at the perpetrator's company, but that she did not receive payments.
According to the delegate responsible for the case, the entire address book on the victim's cell phone had been erased so that she could not contact anyone.
“The chip from her cell phone would have been inserted into her partner’s cell phone so that she could even control who she received calls from and who she would make calls to,” explained Fabiano Oliveira.
The suspect was arrested red-handed for the crime of false imprisonment.
