The Civil and Military Police of Paraná are carrying out a task force to locate a woman who pretended to be a health agent and kidnapped baby Eloah Pietra Almeida dos Santos, aged 1 year and 6 months, in Curitiba (PR) last Thursday ( 23).
According to the PM, the agents were called to respond to an incident of a baby being kidnapped in the Parolin neighborhood, in Curitiba, where Eloah was last seen.
The child’s family reports that the suspect introduced herself as a social worker and approached Eloah’s mother saying that she had been reported and that, therefore, the girl would need to undergo an examination.
The suspect then asked the child’s mother to drink some liquid and then for the two to get into a car. The woman also asked her to put the child in a car seat. While the mother adjusted the girl, the fake health agent accelerated the vehicle, taking the child and leaving the mother. As mentioned, the suspect wore a mask, sunglasses and gloves on her hands.
In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the girl was included in the Amber Alert, a Meta alert system to allow quick communication through social networks.
“We are treating this case as an absolute priority, but we cannot yet say what led to the disappearance. All of our teams are mobilized to locate the child and understand exactly what happened”, said the Secretary of Public Security, Hudson Leôncio Teixeira.
Eloah’s aunt revealed that, one day before the case, the vehicle used to kidnap the baby visited the neighborhood where the family lives and that the fake health agent asked about her daughter.
“I was ‘going’ to work with my husband. She approached me, asked my daughter’s name and wanted me to get her document. I said I wouldn’t pick it up, because I was late for work. She kind of stopped talking and went [embora]. Then today she came back and took my niece”, she said.
Information about the child’s whereabouts can be provided by calling 197 or 181 (Dial-Denúncia).
