A woman victim of domestic violence managed to be rescued after simulating a pizza order by the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu). The case took place in Araguaína, in the north of Tocantins, in the early hours of March 19 of this year, but was disclosed by the City Hall this week.
An auxiliary technical regulation physician on duty received the unusual call. According to the City Hall, due to the history of many prank calls received by the agency, the attendant started a SAMU protocol of paying attention to the background sound of the call to help identify the situation.
Listen to the audio in the video below:
The technician noticed that the woman ordering the pizza was speaking in a low voice. “I got suspicious and asked if she needed help. She said yes. I asked for the address and a landmark, and he said he would send the pizza. At the same time, I contacted the Military Police”, reported the attendant, whose name was not released.
When they arrived at the address given, the police found the woman with several marks of aggression, configuring the crime of domestic violence. The information was passed on by the PM to Samu.
Police arrested the suspect red-handed for bodily injury, threat and injury.
According to the Civil Police, the judge approved the act and granted provisional release, applying precautionary measures other than prison. Now, it will be up to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to decide whether or not to offer criminal action.
The technician was happy with the result: “Our mission is to save lives, so I am very happy to have helped”. The situation experienced by the attendant will become part of the training of the agency’s employees.
