A woman was recorded attacking and cursing app delivery people in São Conrado, Rio de Janeiro, last Sunday (9).
In the videos, which went viral on social media, it is possible to see the woman complaining that delivery men ride motorcycles on the sidewalk.
After the discussion, she utters curses and begins to physically attack the delivery men. The woman even removed her dog’s collar and used it to assault one of them.
The aggressor would be Sandra Mathias, who presents herself on social networks as a nutritionist and former beach volleyball player.
In a note, the Civil Police said that the investigation is underway at the 15th DP (Gávea) and the crimes of injury based on prejudice and bodily harm are being investigated. “The victim was heard and the author is expected to give testimony,” he said.
iFood reported that Sandra Mathias was banned from the platform, even though she had not placed any orders through the application at that time, and that the company is in contact with delivery people to “offer all the necessary support”.
“iFood reinforces that it does not tolerate offenses or aggression towards delivery men and women, nor manifestations of prejudice, harassment, bullying and incitement to violence”, says the note. “It is important to emphasize that all customers who have this type of attitude will be automatically excluded from the platform, even if it occurs outside the iFood environment.”
A CNN tries to contact the delivery men and Sandra Mathias.
