The woman caught on security cameras attacking a Muslim neighbor denied that the motivation for the attacks was religious intolerance.
The video of the case, which took place in the Jundiapeba neighborhood, in Mogi das Cruzes, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, went viral on social media.
For security reasons, she asked that her name not be published, but admitted to CNN that she had physically attacked her neighbor. However, she denied any religious motivation, as alleged by victim Khadjah.
“I went ahead, yes, I was wrong to attack her, to start the physical aggression, but verbal aggression and threats at my window occurred before,” he stated.
The attacker says that before starting the physical confrontation, she heard threats from her neighbor, who was wearing traditional Muslim clothing. “Come down here, I’m going to break you from hitting you so much”, the victim of the attacks reportedly said.
The trouble began after a dispute between the two women's children. The victim alleges that her 12-year-old son got angry with his 9-year-old classmate after hearing that his mother was a “terrorist” and attacked him. The attacker then went to get satisfaction. She denies that her son used the term.
The perpetrator of the attacks also denies that her brother, who appears in the images performing a rear-naked choke, used the term “terrorist” to refer to the victim. In her report to the police, she says that her brother just wanted to break up the fight.
“Nothing justifies her having involved religiosity. If she really wanted to seek justice against aggression, against the way my brother defended me, she would have had to go to court and seek her rights, and not have invented such a huge lie, because this is very serious.” , he highlighted.
The case is being investigated by the 4th Police District. Both women filed police reports and decided to continue with criminal representation.
