The 52-year-old woman, who committed racial abuse against supermarket attendants and attacked a military police officer in the face, in Perdizes, in the West Zone of São Paulo, became a defendant this Tuesday (13).
Rita Aparecida Longhini was arrested after offending a police officer and slapping him in the face. The incident occurred on July 31. The 27th Criminal Court of the Court of Justice of São Paulo accepted the complaint filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office last Friday (9). Rita remains in prison.
The judge in charge of the case, Sirley Claus Prado Tonello, concluded that “there is evidence of the materiality of the crime and sufficient evidence” for her to be prosecuted. Before attacking the police officer, she was at a branch of the Oxxo supermarket chain, when she racially abused two employees, broke merchandise and tried to attack the attendants.
The defendant claimed to be the daughter of federal police officers and stated that one of the establishment’s employees, who is black, was a drug dealer and that she did not want “people like that living in the neighborhood.”

Remember the case
After insulting the Oxxo employees, the woman returned to the building where she lives, about 100 meters from the store.
The Military Police were called and asked the suspect to come down to the entrance. When she came down, the woman said she was bleeding and, when the police officer told her she was going to be taken to the police station, she began to insult him.
During the argument, Rita turns her back to try to leave and the police officer tries to hold her back, at which point she turns around and slaps the officer in the face. The officer knocks the woman to the ground and immobilizes her. Watch the video.
The agent called for reinforcements, eight vehicles went to the scene and the woman was arrested in flagrante delicto.
The case had been registered at the 21st DP (Ceasa) as racial injury, injury, resistance and contempt.
The Oxxo network reported, in a note, that immediately contacted the competent authorities and provided full support to the employees involved .
The market employees, who were victims, asked to be transferred to another unit, because they were afraid that the woman would be released and return to the location, as she lives next door to the store.
