The 33-year-old woman who reported a group of military police officers for gang rape during a party in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo, became pregnant and says she received offers of R$30,000 not to report the agents, according to the victim's lawyers, Bruno Bottiglieri Freitas Costa and Allan Kardec Campo Iglesias.
The victim became pregnant after the crime and as it was a pregnancy resulting from rape, she gained the right to terminate it.
In an interview with the lawyers, they stated that the victim remembers nine people, eight of whom were police officers, but considering that there were other people at the place and time of the events, the investigation considers the number of twelve people directly involved in the episode.
The police are working on the hypothesis that the agents put something in the victim's drink, which suggests a possible accusation of rape of a vulnerable person.
The crime
The gang rape would have occurred in August 2023, but the complaint was made in December of the same year.
According to the Public Security Secretariat, the case is investigated by the Guarujá Women's Defense Police Station (DDM) and is under judicial secrecy. Sexological and medical examinations were requested for the victim.
The São Paulo Military Police ombudsman's office asked for the suspects to be removed as soon as they were identified and for the Internal Affairs Department to take over the case due to the seriousness of the accusations.
The Military Police opened an internal investigation to investigate the agents' possible involvement in the crime.
