«Artists! Put your combativeness in your art ». It is the invitation of Dominique Stella to the artists participating in Super Walls, the Street Art Biennial that involves dozens of internationally renowned artists, Italian and foreign, to embellish large walls in eight municipalities between Padua and the province through their works.
The event, curated by art critic Dominique Stella and gallery owner Carlo Silvestrin, sees 39 street artists participate, including 13 women involved in the spin-off WonderWalls, from five European countries and committed to elaborating the theme of rebirth on 35 surfaces made available by private and institutional realities, companies, recreational facilities, supermarkets, religious institutes, up to city hospitals and the University of Padua, which provides two large walls among the numerous initiatives for the celebration of its 800th anniversary.
That 2021 is an edition embellished by the presence of 13 artists, “an aspect that makes Super Walls a unique event in the world panorama of street art and that gives shape to a strong and tangible message of openness to gender equality in a branch of art that in the collective imagination is the prerogative of the male sex, a belief that we want to contribute to crumble with free creativity “explains the curator Silvestrin.
