Women seek greater space in politics and influence the course of elections

Women are more than half of voters in Brazil and are heads of families in almost half of Brazilian households, but they occupy only 15% of seats in the Chamber of Deputies. Despite the record number of candidacies registered this year, only 17% of candidates for the governorship are women.

In the presidential race, four women participate in the dispute and have expressed, in their campaigns, the obstacles they face in the search for a greater female presence in Brazilian politics and for more government actions aimed at this majority portion of the country’s population.

In this episode of E Tem Mais, Carol Nogueira presents an overview of the space conquered in the electoral campaign by the discussion on policies for women in the country.
