Women will now be able to swim topless in all Berlin pools

The service that manages them swimming pools in the Berlin announced that women would now be able to move about topless in all the swimming pools of the German capital.

As reported by the French agency, a woman had appealed to the anti-discrimination service of Berlin because men were allowed to swim in the pools topless, but women were not.

On the occasion of this appeal, the company Berliner Bäder-Betriebe will in the future implement its internal regulations and the regulation of the baths in such a way as to respect gender equality,” the service said. “Swimming bare-breasted will be allowed in the future for all women or for persons who have female breasts,” he clarified.

Berlin’s anti-discrimination ombudsman welcomed the decision. “This rule should now be enforced and women should not be expelled or denied access,” said its director, Doris Lipscher.
