The latest INPS data show this clearly: there is a substantial difference between the pensions received by men and those of women. Usually 500 euros “dance”.
The new pensions paid to men in the first six months of 2021 had an average amount of 1,429 euros, 498 euros higher than the average amount of pensions paid to women in the same period (931 euros).
One of the problems where women usually receive less on pensions than men is payment of contributions, which in many cases they are not paid regularly, or paid for much lower amounts than those paid by men.
However, women’s pensions would be more numerous in the first half of 2021 than men’s pensions, even if the amounts are actually lower. They have in fact been disbursed from January to June 2021, at least 215,124 pensions for women and 174,800 for men.
It is clear that now everyone is in a state of excitement, waiting for an announced pension reform, which should arrive in the autumn. It has thus been said that, instead of quota 100, a Quota 41 could take over, or the possibility of leaving work upon reaching 41 years of contribution regardless of age. But it’s still all up for debate.
One of the problems to be faced, however, is certainly the female situation, so at the moment there is Size of Option Woman, a system that provides the early retirement for the female component of the population, which guarantees early access to retirement for both self-employed and dependent women. This is a measure that provides that women, with 35 years of contributions, can stop working and access retirement at the age of 58, for dependent workers, and 59 for self-employed workers. One of the hypotheses on the table is to give this intervention an almost structural physiognomy.
