Work of Christ greater than Christ the Redeemer is completed in Rio Grande do Sul

The works of the Christ Protectora 43.5 meter high monument, located in Encantado, a city 145 km from Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul.

Construction began in 2019, at Morro das Antenas, in the Vale do Taquari region, and ended on the 22nd. semester of 2023.

Christ the Protector is the largest in the world, with 37.5 meters high, plus six meters from the pedestal, totaling 43.5 meters. After him, there is Cristo Rei, in Poland, which is 36 meters, followed by Cristo de La Concordia, in Bolivia, with 34. Christ the Redeemerin Rio de Janeiro, appears in fourth place, with 30 meters of height.

Despite not having its surroundings completely finished, the monument can be visited by tourists on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 am to 5 pm, and a contribution of R$ 20 is requested.

The works are supported by Enchanted Friends of Christ Association (AACE), non-profit organization that provided the financial resources for the project.

In addition to being close to Porto Alegre, the city of Encantado is 180 km from Gramado and 80 km from Bento Gonçalves.
