Works to build the bridge that will unite the island of Sicily with Calabria, that is, with the Italian peninsula, are due to begin before the end of summer, according to today’s announcements by the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Melonian Government. The total cost of the project is 13.5 billion euros and is completed for 2026. The length of the bridge will exceed 3.6 kilometers and to cover this distance by car you will need a quarter of an hour. The two “towers”, at the beginning and the end of the bridge, will be 399 meters high. This infrastructure was designed to withstand earthquakes of up to 7.7 degrees (as the area is earthquake) and speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour.
