Total PC shipments in China in the second quarter of 2021 decreased by 3% compared to the same period last year. In total, 19.4 million systems were shipped in the quarter. In comparison with the relatively weak indicators of the first quarter of this year, deliveries increased by 13%.
Shipments of desktop and mobile workstations in annual terms grew by 77%, to 270,000 units. Desktop computers were shipped 5.0 million units. Notebook shipments remained flat, up just 1.4% to 8.6 million units. At the same time, the supply of tablets in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the same period last year significantly decreased – by 24%.
The market leader is Lenovo, which shipped 5.6 million PCs in the quarter, increasing shipments year-on-year by 31%. As a result, its share increased from 33% to 40%.
In second place, Dell increased shipments by 32%, which increased its share from 11% to 14%.
HP reduced shipments by 3%, as a result of which its share decreased from 9% to 8%. At the same time, HP managed to rise from fourth place to third, from where Huawei dropped to fifth. In fourth place is Asus, which increased its share from 6% to 7%, increasing shipments by 25%. The company Huawei, being cut off from suppliers by the US sanctions, reduced supplies by 64%, which led to a decrease in its share from 10% to 3%.
