World Health Organization: 17 million Europeans faced problems due to long Covid

At least 17 million European citizens have faced problems due to the long Covid (long Covid) in 2020 and 2021 points out the World Health Organization.

According to an estimate published by the Agency for Europe World Health Organization the estimated number represents 16% of the 102.4 million people infected by the virus during the first two years of the pandemic in the 53 countries of the European continent.

Long Covid hits women twice as hard, according to the estimates of the World Health Organization which are based on the calculations of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME, USA).

According to the IHME, around 145 million people in total worldwide suffered from prolonged Covid in 2020 and 2021.
