The Slovak company Deep has successfully modified the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max by adding a USB-C connector. Recall that two modified iPhone X smartphones with a USB-C connector have already been sold.
After opening the phone and removing the Lightning port flex cable, measurements are taken of the USB-C connector so that it can be installed in the iPhone 12 Pro Max. After removing the gasket from the Lightning port, the remaining hole is barely enough to fit the USB-C connector with the original MFi chip inside. To do this, the speaker module is slightly filed. Once assembled, iPhone 12 Pro Max with USB-C is ready to go.

The device has been tested and is fully functional. It works with iTunes, the storage connects to the Mac and charges correctly with an original Apple charger using a USB-C cable.
Many iPhone owners have long been waiting for Apple to add the more common and well-known USB-C port to their iPhones, as they did on the iPad Pro or MacBook. Especially Pro smartphone users who would like one cable for all the devices they use on a daily basis. We decided to at least partially fulfill this desire and offer the original Apple iPhone mobile phone with a USB-C port instead of the original Lightning port.

The device is now available on eBay, with the auction starting Thursday at $1,350 and ending March 6, 2022. In November, a USB-C iPhone X built by Swiss robotics student Ken Pillonell sold for $86,001. In this case, the smartphone cannot be updated, it cannot be restored or reset.
