“World’s First iPhone with USB-C” Now Over $ 100,000

This week, student at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic Institute Ken Pillonel posted on eBay a modified version of the iPhone X with a fully functional USB-C port, which was priced at around $ 4,000 at the time of the previous post.

At the moment, the current bid already exceeds $ 100,000, with almost a week remaining until the end of the auction. The auction page describes the device as “the world’s first iPhone with USB-C” and “the perfect piece for any Apple fan to collect.” The auction will run until November 11, with delivery expected at the end of December.

Pillonel said the modified iPhone X is “just a prototype” and does not guarantee that it will work properly in certain scenarios. The purchaser should not restore, update the system, or erase data from the device, as this may damage the device.

The winner of the auction will receive an iPhone X with 64 GB of flash memory. If the new smartphone owner has any questions about the equipment, Pillonel will also provide a 30-minute phone consultation.

The author of the modification also posted a complete guide to creating an iPhone X with a USB-C connector on his YouTube page, describing the entire process.
