Iqoo has officially announced that its new Iqoo smartphone will be the world’s first phone to feature a 2K Samsung E5 screen.

E5 is the fifth generation of the luminous material used in the South Korean tech giant’s OLED panels. The smartphone display is expected to be very bright and readable in the sun. The previous generation of panels, the Samsung E4, had a peak brightness of 1500 cd / m22.

In addition, the company also announced that the screen can display a billion colors. At 2K resolution, it will have a density of 517 ppi. The teaser also shows the front panel of the Iqoo 8, we see a screen with narrow bezels and a hole for the front camera.

Earlier it was reported that the smartphone will receive a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ single-chip system, support for 160 W fast charging, 12 GB of RAM and a top-end camera.

The company has already confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will be released on August 17, 2021.
