World’s oldest drag queen Darcelle XV dies aged 92

Darcelle XV holder of the Guinness World Record for oldest drag queen artist, died on Thursday (12) at the age of 92, announced her cabaret in Portland, Oregon, in the United States, on social networks.

“The family of Darcelle XV, along with her cast and crew, are heartbroken to announce that our beloved Darcelle (Walter W. Cole, Sr.) has died at age 92 of natural causes,” said Darcelle XV Showplace on Instagram.

“We ask for privacy and patience as everyone processes and grieves in their own way and at their own pace.”

Darcelle XV was crowned the oldest drag queen by Guinness World Records in 2016.

The Darcelle XV Showplace, which she owned, is “the oldest drag show on the West Coast [dos Estados Unidos]”, according to Guinness.

Upcoming cabaret shows “will continue as scheduled in accordance with Darcelle’s wishes,” according to the Instagram post.

A public memorial is also being planned.

A CNN attempted to contact Darcelle XV’s family for comment.
