X Factor 2023: at the first Audition, sparks are already flying among the judges

Milan waking up at the crack of dawn, the anxiety and adrenaline of those hoping for the stage X Factr can change their lives and the joy of having four sacred monsters of music just a few meters away, with their eyes and ears strained to listen to them. The new edition of X FactorSky Original show produced by Fremantle and broadcast every Thursday in prime time on Sky and streaming on NOW, decides to start from here: from the aspiring competitors who feel they don’t want to waste an opportunity, and from the motivation that drives them to shed any inhibitions and demonstrate to the judges – but also to some extent to the public – that for them music is a serious thing. From the first episode it is clear that X Factor this time we veer towards another type of selection: unlike previous years we find, in fact, a huge space for experimentation that is at times almost extreme which the judges welcome with curiosity and interest, being also very aware that, in these times in which everything has been seen and heard, it is necessary to find innovations that can break the mold and demonstrate that X Factor still has many arrows to store.

Together with the very careful selection of participants, it is, of course, still the case the chemistry of the judges, which with the entry of Morgan undergoes a significant change. The veteran is welcomed, in fact, a little with warmth and a little with distrust, even if the much criticized spats with Fedez atX Factor of 2014 they have not – at least for now – recurred. However, he is not the one holding the threads of everything Morganwhich is like it’s still warming up, but Amber Angiolini: she is the balance of the jury, ed it is always she who dictates the times and teases her colleagues every time she feels she has to say something that goes beyond the inevitable camaraderie that males build among themselves behind the counter. It happens on several occasions: when the young Alessandro Antoni brings to the stage X Factor a brazenly pop song and Morgan says it seems like a product made specifically to sell, meeting Amber’s anger who points out that the public’s tastes cannot be ignored; but it still happens when the handsome Antonio Edoardo Brogi performs Ambra thunders once again against Fedez and against Morgan when the latter suggests that the boy is too handsome and too nice to be taken seriously, despite having a beautiful voice; but it also happens when Dargen D’Amico he seems inclined to say yes to a competitor he doesn’t like and Ambra suspects that he only does so with the hope of pinning it on the rest of the judges.

The atmosphere, there is no point in hiding it, is not very relaxed, but it is normal for it to be like this: Morgan’s return has upset the balance achieved in 2022, and it is obvious that in this round everyone has a great desire to demonstrate what they are made of to get as far as possible with their teams. We notice it when a X Factor potentially interesting aspiring contestants arrive and everyone plays their cards to get them on their side: like the masked couple of Animaux Formidablesthe bursting one Asia Leva with its bars, the histrionic members of the group Collective and the melancholy of Matteo Pierotti. The moment of tears, however, comes in the face of the pain held back by the voice of Angelica Bove on the notes of The night by Arisa: it is there that the judges forget, for a moment, that they are in competition and harmonize with the common thread that X Factor has carried on since the first edition: pay homage to music and those who transform it into a reason for living. A concept that the presenter Francesca Michielin he remembers, with his usual politeness, all the times he converses with the boys before they reach the cone of light.
