In March this year, the classic series of mutants from “X-Men” won one revival on Disney+. Titled “X-Men '97 ”, the production arrives 27 years after the release of its last season. In its first episode, shown on the 20th, the public was able to come into contact with a character no less than Brazilian.
Roberto da Costa, better known as “Sunspot” , won a role in the new animated series voiced by fellow Brazilian Gui Agustini. The character is not the only mutant in the country coming from Marvel Comics.

Roberto da Costa (Sunspot)

Roberto is Brazilian born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. He had a life of stewardship as he was the son of Emmanuel da Costa, a great businessman. Her mother, Nina da Costa, is an archaeologist who sees little of him because she is always traveling for work and is separated from her father.
He first manifested his mutant abilities while participating in a football championship, transforming in front of everyone.
Powers: Absorption of solar energy to convert into black plasma that gives him superhuman strength. He later learned that he can also fly and emit plasma blasts.
Amara Juliana Olivians Aquilla (Magma)

Magma (Amara Juliana Olivians Aquilla) believed she was the daughter of Lucius Antonius Aquilla, the first Senator of Nova Roma, a city hidden in the jungles of the Amazon, Brazil.
At one point in her story, it is revealed that she was part of a wizarding ritual that sacrificed young girls. Amara is thrown into the lava of a volcano and her mutant powers are activated.
Powers: possesses geothermal powers that allow her to assume an energized form in which she radiates heat and light, produces and controls earthquakes, and projects blasts of magma.
Iara dos Santos (Shark Girl)

Iara dos Santos, better known as Shark Girl, is a mutant who emerged after the events of the “Avengers Vs. X-men” saga and has the gift of transforming into a humanoid shark.
Powers: He can transform into a shark, survive underwater and has superhuman strength, agility and endurance.
Antonio Aggasiz

Antonio Aggasiz was a Brazilian mutant who was captured by an arms dealer/terrorist named Volga. Under threat of death against his family, Aggasiz would act as an interdimensional technology thief, choosing and stealing any and all types of weapons, devices or items of interest from the various alternative realities to the enigmatic shipowner.
Powers: Antonio was a mutant with the ability to psionically open dimensional rifts, allowing him to teleport himself and possibly others from one place to another, be it one location or an alternate dimension.
Renata da Lima (Nata)

Renata Da Lima is a young Brazilian woman who was kicked out of her home by her parents when they discovered that she was a mutant. Using her gifts, she managed to survive on the streets.
Powers: superhuman strength.
Xande

Xande was a young mutant from Brazil who was found by Cable when he was going to the beach in Rio de Janeiro one night.
Powers: telekinesis, that is, the ability to move, manipulate, or exert force on something without physical interaction, just using the mind.
