Both Xiaomi and HONOR stopped marketing activities in Russia in the spring of 2022, but now they are posting job search jobs in their Russian offices. This was noticed by the Izvestia edition, after analyzing the ads on large sites. Both companies are looking for people to be responsible for logistics, advertising purchases and distribution, all of which indicate that brands are resuming activity in the country and may make a full comeback in the future.
As the founder of PR Perfect Kristina Petrova noted, at the moment there are several types of presence of foreign companies in the Russian market:
- brands themselves are engaged in promotion and marketing;
- advertising and related activities are assigned to partners;
- companies open a representative office under a different name.
It seems that both Xiaomi and HONOR are targeting the first strategy – they both personally opened recruitment.
But it is too early to talk about the full return of companies to Russia. According to Izvestiya sources, HONOR products are still imported into the country under the parallel import scheme. And the supply of Xiaomi devices continues to be provided exclusively by the company’s partners.
