Xiaomi became the leader in sales of smartphones in Russia

According to the results of the second quarter of this year, Xiaomi took first place in smartphone sales in Russia, removing Samsung from the podium. Experts explain this result by a decrease in deliveries to the country of products from such giants as Apple and Samsung, as well as an increased demand for devices from Chinese manufacturers.

According to Izvestia, citing MTS data, Xiaomi’s share in the Russian market is now 30.6%. Other manufacturers from China also improved their positions, for example, Realme, which occupies 13%. The largest Russian retailer, M.Video-Eldorado, claims that the share of Chinese brands in Russia reached 70% in June, although at the beginning of this year it did not exceed 50%. As for Apple and Samsung, their figures are now 10.6% and 18.5% respectively.

In general, sales of smartphones in Russia in the second quarter of this year decreased by 33% compared to the first, which is traditionally stronger due to the holidays. It is also worth noting the fact that the range of devices has also been greatly reduced. If earlier there were up to 200 models in offline stores, now there are about 40.
