The source adds that the company is manufacturing this screen exclusively for the Xiaomi foldable phone. Previously, top OLED screens were supplied by Samsung, but in recent years the situation has changed dramatically, and Chinese manufacturers have strengthened their positions.
Over the past two years, different models of foldable smartphones have appeared on the smartphone market. The first such phone, the Royole Flexpai, hit the market back in 2018. However, the segment became more popular with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, which have already received successors.
Xiaomi showed a prototype of its flexible screen smartphone two years ago, it could be folded in two places. However, the commercial device, according to the leaks and photos, looks like the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The screen of the device will fold down in the middle and hide inside the case when folded.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix foldable phone also uses the world’s first liquid lens, which will expand the device’s camera capabilities. As we already reported, the liquid lenses for the new Xiaomi Mi Mix were created by the Chinese company Ofilm, a former Apple partner.
