Xiaomi has announced which devices will not receive the MIUI 13.5 firmware. A lot of them

MIUI 13.5 hasn’t even been announced yet, but Xiaomi has already announced which smartphones and tablets will definitely not get it – all that are still running Android 11 (even despite MIUI 13). This was reported by the profile portal Xiaomiui.

Most likely, the following smartphones will not receive the next major firmware update (since they are still on Android 11):

  • Mi 9 / 9SE / 9 Lite / 9 Pro
  • Mi 9T / Mi 9T Pro
  • Mi CC9 / Mi CC9 Meitu
  • Redmi K20 / K20 Pro / K20 Pro Premium
  • Redmi Note 8 / Note 8T / Note 8 Pro
  • Redmi 9A / 9AT / 9i / 9C
  • POCO C3/C31

Xiaomi cannot be blamed for not releasing MIUI 13.5 for the devices described above, since it is very difficult (or even impossible) to implement some features on older versions of Android, which may be planned for the next major firmware update. It is worth noting that some of the smartphones on the list above have not even received MIUI 13 yet – now the firmware for Redmi Note 8 and Mi 9 Pro is only being tested.
