Xiaomi has released a proprietary MIUI 12 shell for Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphones (review).

The Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone debuted in 2018 with MIUI 9 pre-installed based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It then upgraded to MIUI 10, Android 9.0 Pie and MIUI 11. The phone is now starting to receive MIUI 12.
Unlike most Xiaomi smartphones, Redmi Note 6 Pro has only two assembly channels – global and Russian. And, unfortunately, Russian assemblies were last released in early 2019. In other words, the Russian Redmi Note 6 Pro is stuck on the MIUI 10 stage based on Android 8 Oreo.
In the meantime, the new global build V12.0.1.0.PEKMIXM has a stable status, but is still available to a small number of users. When the company is satisfied that the build is free of major failures, it will expand distribution.
The firmware is based on Android 9.0 Pie and contains the November 2020 Android security update.
The official Russian online store Xiaomi still sells Redmi Note 6 Pro. The smartphone is available at a price of 13 490 rubles.
