Xiaomi has updated its list of EOS (End-of-Support) devices that will never receive any updates again – it has replenished with 10 devices at once. It’s not just about updates to the operating system and firmware, but even about security patches. It is reported by Gizmochina.
Among smartphones, 8 models have lost support:
- Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 7 Pro
- Redmi 7
- Redmi Y3
- Mi Play
- Mi 9 SE
The situation with budget Redmi models is unlikely to surprise anyone, because it was hardly worth counting on their support for too long from the very beginning. However, the situation with the Mi 9 SE may upset the owners of this smartphone, since it was released in 2019 as part of the flagship Mi 9 series – the same Samsung offers four years of support for its devices of this class.
Of the tablets, Xiaomi called Mi Pad 4 and Mi Pad 4 Plus obsolete.
