Xiaomi introduced a smartphone for Bitcoin mining: it has 2 additional video cards

Xiaomi has released an unusual device for itself and the market as a whole: the Mi Ner 1 smartphone designed for bitcoin mining and its improved modification Mi Ner 1X. The manufacturer named the features and main characteristics of the gadget, but did not show its photographs – in its Weibo account, the corporation published only illustrative renders of the novelty. It happened today, April 1st.

Mi Ner is based on 2 (in the basic version) or 3 (in the improved version) video cards from Qualcomm. Thanks to these GPUs, the Mi Ner 1 achieves a mining speed of 80 hashes per second, and the Mi Ner 1X with an additional video accelerator achieves 115 hashes per second. The base model is weaker, and the built-in liquid cooling system is enough for it, and the 1X model is supplemented with a removable cooler that attaches to a special connector on the case.

The novelty is powered by the second generation Snapdragon 8cx processor, originally designed for ARM laptops. Since Mi Ner 1 (X) is still a smartphone, it can mine not only when connected to the mains: thanks to a 7000 mAh battery, the gadget will work autonomously for up to 5 hours in mining mode at medium speed – there is definitely enough charge to carry from home to work. …

Xiaomi Mi Ner 1 should go on sale for $ 700, while Mi Ner 1X will cost $ 840. The pre-order of new products starts today, April 1, and mass sales start on the 20th. Everyone who pre-orders the company will give a smart smoke detector, which is part of the Mi Home ecosystem.
