Today, February 6, Xiaomi officially introduced two Poco-branded smartphones at once – we are talking about the base model X5 and X5 Pro. The main advantage of these new products, of course, is impressive performance and a decent set of features for a very reasonable price, and Poco X5 Pro, of course, is much more interesting in this regard. The performance of this device is based on the Snapdragon 778G processor from Qualcomm, which has impressive power and is built on a relatively fresh technological process of 6 nanometers. This chip comes with the Adreno 642L graphics core, and as a result, the new system-on-a-chip is noticeably more powerful than the one in the X4 Pro.

The smartphone also received 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory in the basic configuration, but if desired, the user can buy a model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory – in any case, we are talking about LPDDR4X chips and UFS 2.2 storage. The device also boasts a 6.67-inch diagonal AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a sampling rate of 240 Hz. Of the nice bonuses, it is worth noting a peak brightness of 900 nits, a 10-bit color palette with 100% coverage of DCI-P3 space and protection thanks to tempered glass Gorilla Glass 5. And, of course, the manufacturer has also worked on the camera system, since now it is an important marketing tool.

For example, the main camera module boasts a 108MP image sensor (supports pixel binning), as well as an 8MP wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera. On the front side there is a 16 megapixel camera, plus, thanks to the fresh chipset, the user gets a faster IPS module and NPU, as well as the ability to record video in 4K resolution. There are also Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless modules, an NFC chip and proprietary MIUI 14 firmware based on Android 12 right out of the box. Unfortunately, so far the manufacturer has decided not to say anything about prices – it is only known that the gadget will be sold in the same practical case in black, blue and yellow colors.
The Poco X5 gets the Snapdragon 695 SoC from the X4 Pro, but it has significantly more memory than its predecessor, with 128GB of storage space and 6GB of RAM. There is also a version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, and for some reason the manufacturer decided not to send MIUI 13 firmware to this model – instead, the gadget is sold with MIUI 13, albeit on the same version of Android 12. the same as the Pro model in terms of diagonal, refresh rate and resolution, but it has a peak brightness of 1200 nits, and the palette is only 8-bit. The main camera of the smartphone received an image sensor of 48 megapixels, there is an 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle module, as well as a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The company said that this smartphone will cost less than 250 euros, but the exact price will be known a little later.
