Xiaomi leads, Chinese companies took 77% of India’s smartphone market last year

According to Financial Express, Chinese manufacturers including Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo shipped 77% of India’s total smartphone stock last year. A year earlier, Chinese suppliers accounted for 72% of smartphones.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, Xiaomi mobile phone shipments in India reached 12 million units, strengthening the company’s leading position with a market share of 27%. The second place is occupied by Samsung with a share of 21%. Vivo ranks third with shipments of 7.7 million units. Oppo climbed to fourth place, shipping 5.5 million smartphones. Fifth place went to Realme.
