Xiaomi has begun distributing a stable version of the MIUI 12 proprietary shell for European and Russian versions of the budget smartphone Redmi 8.

In Europe, the firmware has the number MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCNEUXM, in Russia – MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCNRUXM. The 629MB update is based on Android 10 and additionally brings the December 2020 Android security update.

Redmi 8 with global firmware was able to try out MIUI 12 a little earlier – in December 2020.
The budget smartphone launched with MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie just over a year ago. In Russia, Redmi 8 is currently offered in the official Xiaomi online store at a price of 9,990 rubles.
