Chinese Xiaomi has announced cooperation with the operator VimpelCom (trademark Beeline).
The companies are going to develop a co-branded retail network. In the joint stores, it is planned to provide a wide range of smart devices and a full range of communication services necessary for their operation.
The first store was opened in the Yaroslavl region in the city of Uglich. On an area of about 50 m2, “several hundred” electronics models are offered, including smartphones, wearable devices, smart home products and Xiaomi set-top boxes. Most of the devices are laid out on stands with free access. Along with the purchase of electronics, customers can purchase SIM-cards “Beeline”, connect online TV, use financial services, as well as receive subscription services.
By the end of the year, Beeline and Xiaomi are planning to open about 50 more joint stores located throughout Russia, mainly in small towns.
