Xiaomi has begun distributing the final version of MIUI 12.5 firmware based on the Android 11 operating system for the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE smartphone in international markets.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE was launched at the beginning of 2019 and was the first smartphone in the world to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC. It was introduced alongside the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9 Explorer Edition and originally ran MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. It was later updated to MIUI 11 and then to Android 11 and MIUI 12.
The MIUI 12.5 shell brings with it a 35% reduction in the use of the system memory of the device, and the power consumption of the smartphone by 25%. In addition, MIUI 12.5 adds new super wallpapers, new sounds for system updates, improves the vibration system and more.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE shares many similarities with the flagship Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone, including the same back cover, 48MP Sony IMX586 image sensor, 20MP front camera with beautifiers, fifth generation fingerprint scanner, Samsung AMOLED screen with the same resolution, multifunctional NFC and infrared remote control.
