Xiaomi continues to expand its Memory Extension distribution for its smartphones.
This time, support for this interesting feature has already appeared in the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 in the stable Chinese firmware 12.5.4.0.RKMCNXM, as well as Mi 10T Lite and Mi 10 Lite in beta. Information was shared by Kacper Skrzypek, MIUI translator, insider and software developer.
The feature is also expected to be activated for the Mi 10 Lite 5G in the near future. And when Xiaomi presents the Mi 11T, it will be for this model as well.
Global users can only wait for Xiaomi to transfer this innovation to global firmware. Perhaps this will happen with the launch of MIUI 13 towards the end of the year.
Memory Extension allows you to expand the amount of RAM due to a special virtual partition created in flash memory. Initially, the feature only allowed 1 GB of virtual memory to be allocated. Subsequently, the amount of virtual memory was expanded to 3 GB of RAM, but it seems that this is only available to flagship models.
