Xiaomi named 12 smartphones that will receive MIUI 12.5 EE – a special version of the system with fixed bugs

At the presentation, which took place on Tuesday, August 10, in addition to the Mi MIX 4 smartphone and Mi Pad 5 tablets, the Chinese company Xiaomi announced new software. We are talking about the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition firmware.

As the name suggests, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, or simply MIUI 12.5 EE, is an enhanced version of the regular MIUI 12.5. No, Xiaomi did not add new features and chips to the updated software, but instead focused on improving system performance, increasing stability and fixing bugs. Xiaomi engineers have optimized MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition at all levels – from the very core, that is, the lower level, to the user interface that personifies the upper level. In total, the developers made about 160 fixes and improvements to the proprietary software platform, and also solved 224 problems with system applications. MIUI 12.5 EE is said to reduce CPU load by about 15% and power consumption by 8%. The optimization of software performance or the so-called smart balance has contributed to this. This solution intelligently balances the load on the hardware of the device in search of the perfect balance between performance and energy efficiency.

The first batch of devices to be updated to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition includes 12 smartphones under the Mi and Redmi brands, including the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 announced the day before. These models will start receiving updates from Friday, August 13th. However, while MIUI 12.5 will be released exclusively for the Chinese market. Whether an updated version of MIUI 12.5 will appear for global versions of devices and when it will happen is not reported.
