Some time ago, the press service of Redmi, which is a subsidiary of the Chinese giant Xiaomi, officially published a teaser for a special gaming version of the Redmi K50 smartphone – K50 Gaming Edition. And today, February 9, another image of a special gaming version appeared on Xiaomi social networks, which was created in partnership with the well-known car manufacturer Mercedes AMG. This smartphone is called Redmi K50 Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition, but, apparently, there will not be so many differences from the original gaming gadget – the designers focused only on decorative elements.

For example, the back of the smartphone is painted in matte silver with a gradient, and instead of one dividing strip, which is used on the base version of the K50 Gaming Edition, the K50 Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition has two stripes – like on sports cars. Also in the upper right corner of the back panel is a company logo and an image of a special edition of this gaming version. There were no other noticeable decorative differences between device versions – the special edition uses the same RGB camera panel to the right and left of the lenses, the same lightning-shaped flash, similar decorative elements closer to the center of the panel, and more.
It is worth recalling that the K50 Gaming Edition smartphone (Redmi K50, K50 Pro, K50 Pro + will also be presented in the line) is equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor – this information has already been officially confirmed by the manufacturer, although the processor appeared in the documents without certification much earlier. In addition, insiders said that the smartphone will receive a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Quad HD + resolution with a high refresh rate, and the main camera unit consists of image sensors with a resolution of 64, 13 and 2 MP. There is still information about support for 120W fast charging, but very soon, on February 16, the device will be officially presented, so there is no need to guess – there is exactly a week before the event.
A special edition of the Redmi K50 Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition is also likely to be announced at the same presentation, and the characteristics of the smartphone are likely to be similar – the only differences are that they belong to Mercedes AMG and an additional logo on the back panel. And the price, of course.
