Xiaomi has filed a patent filing with the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA), which describes an innovative sonic charging technology.
Recently, the market has been flooded with various innovative charging solutions from several manufacturers. Basically, manufacturers are increasing the capacity of conventional wired and wireless chargers, someone is working on wireless chargers from a distance. But Xiaomi decided to dig in a new direction.
The device will use sound and various components to charge smartphones and other devices. It will consist of a sound charger capable of collecting sound, an energy storage device and an electronic device.

The device will have a mechanism for converting sound energy into electrical energy to charge the devices. First, the sound wave is converted into mechanical vibration, and then it is converted into electrical energy. A circuit will also be provided to convert the generated alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC), which can then be used to charge devices without using an outlet.
Experts consider this move Xiaomi quite ambitious, since the necessary technology for sound charging is in its infancy.
