Xiaomi will re-release a 2-year-old smartphone, popular in Russia: the processor and battery will be updated

A fairly well-known insider in certain circles who specializes in Xiaomi smartphones claims that the Chinese company plans to re-release the two-year sales hit Redmi Note 8 in some markets. He supports his statement with data from the FCC database, where the future “novelty” with model number M1908C3JGG has been certified.

The smartphone will run on the MediaTek Helio G85 platform, get a 4000 mAh battery and MIUI 12.5 out of the box. The 2019 Redmi Note 8 came with a Snapdragon 665 processor and the same 4000mAh battery. However, the difference is that the company will make some improvements to the battery. In particular, it is supposed to support 22.5W fast charging, while the original model supports 18W charging.

The rest of the specs should remain the same: 48MP main camera, up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. But there is no information about NFC. Redmi Note 8 2019 does not have it, and it would be logical to equip the device with an NFC module.

According to available information, the updated Redmi Note 8 will be available in Europe and Russia.
