Xiaomi has resumed development of the proprietary MIUI 12.5 shell after a two-week break.

The company’s developers went to the traditional Chinese New Year holidays. At this time, the development of beta versions of MIUI 12.5 was suspended, as Xiaomi warned about in advance. Now the developers have returned and started releasing fresh firmware again.
Stable versions of MIUI 12 began to appear a few days earlier – from 18 February. However, the new beta versions of MIUI 12.5 are only presented today.
The latest release for closed beta participants is 21.2.19. It brings small changes to animation in response to control gestures, Android security update, and is also adapted for Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 9 4G. A number of new features are expected to arrive soon and will be gradually added prior to stable releases.

MIUI 12.5 stable firmware for Chinese users should start rolling out in April. For the international market, a stable release of MIUI 12.5 is planned for the second quarter of 2021.
