XRP Community Members: We Don’t Really Hate Ethereum

A Fox Business reporter stated that XRP supporters hate everything to do with Ethereum. The Ripple community does not agree with this conclusion.

Journalist Charles Gasparino published a tweet where he called the hatred of XRP enthusiasts for all things and people related to Ethereum absurd. According to Gasparino, every person he knows who has invested in Ethereum wants Ripple to win in a lawsuit with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The outcome of the case will directly affect the regulation of the entire crypto industry, including the ETH coin.

Gasparino’s tweet generated a lot of backlash from members of the XRP community who disagreed with his statement. One of them wrote that the ether is present in the investment portfolio of many XRP holders, so they would hardly want the collapse of the second cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

In recent weeks, the reporter has attacked XRP more than once, protecting the ether. In early January, Gasparino denied claims by Ripple lawyers that former SEC director Bill Hinman’s controversial 2018 speech conflicted with the agency’s position on cryptocurrencies. Hinman said earlier that ether cannot be considered a security. However, statements by XRP supporters slipped on the Internet that these statements by Hinman were due to corrupt relations with the creators of Ethereum. Gasparino called XRP followers conspiracy theorists. In response, Gasparino’s subscribers wrote that XRP supporters may be unhappy with the actions of some Ethereum founders and SEC officials, but this has nothing to do with the coin itself.

In September, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse criticized the regulator for changing its mind about ether, which can be considered a security after switching to the Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm. Garlinghouse said he has invested heavily in long ether positions. By mentioning ETH in a lawsuit with the SEC, Ripple is only trying to achieve regulatory clarity regarding crypto assets, XRP owners are sure.
