Xuxa says that her former manager Marlene Mattos did not want black paquitas

Presenter Xuxa Meneghel revealed on TV Globo’s Altas Horas program that her former manager, Marlene Mattos I didn’t want black paquitas.

The actress Adriana Candy was in the audience and said that he was an extra on a show by the presenter in 1996.

“Marlene didn’t want a black paquita, but I was delighted with her beauty”, said Xuxa.

Then, Bombom talked about how the experience of participating in Xuxa Park was.

“My dream was to be able to invade that television to be there and be a paquita, but I know that my dream was very far away, even because the paquitas were blonde and I knew that I couldn’t be there because of the color, because I was black”, he said.

“I started working as an extra and one day I was invited to participate in the program as an extra. That was a huge joy for me, working with Xuxa, and I was a reference because the other black women all wanted to be in this role that I was playing as a stage assistant ”, she concluded.

At another point in the program, Xuxa commented on a nuisance she had at the time.

“They [paquitas] They came in with beautiful black hair and after a few months they were all blonde and that made me really nervous. I just recently found out why and that made me even more upset,” she said.

Paquitas was a Brazilian “girl group” formed in 1984 by the stage assistants of the presenter Xuxa, who started to perform as a musical group from 1989.
