According to one of the insiders, negotiations have been underway since the end of last year. At the same time, an anonymous VK employee confirmed the fact of negotiations with Yandex: “VK considers the development of digital partnerships to be an effective form of cooperation, which allow mutually reinforcing companies in various directions.”
It is also alleged that the very idea to sell “Yandex.News” and “Yandex.Zen” originally arose four or five years ago, so they simply returned to this issue again last fall. According to one version, Yandex wants to be a technology company, while Yandex.Zen is developing more towards social networks. At the same time, Yandex.News is criticized quite a lot.
