Yandex has officially announced that it is developing YaLM 2.0, its own version of the notorious ChatGPT chat bot, capable of generating very realistic responses to user requests. It is planned to be built into various company services, including Search (it still uses some neural networks, but they perform only an auxiliary function), Alice (will cope with more complex questions and dialogues), Mail and others.
Developers will be faced with one of the most difficult steps in creating YaLM 2.0 almost immediately – neural network training, which will require hundreds of thousands of perfect answers. For these purposes, Yandex will use all its supercomputers (Chervonenkis, Galushkin and Lyapunov), which are the most productive in Russia and Eastern Europe. Their total power is more than 50 petaflops.
