Today, December 23, Yandex developers are officially launching the ability to pay in the company’s services using a family card. Fortunately, there is nothing difficult in opening it – just add your bank card in your Yandex ID personal account (or select one of those that have already been linked to your account), then create a special family account, invite participants to it and set a limit in rubles or foreign currency. For example, the creator (owner) of a family account can set different limits on the family card for each family member – for a day, a week, or even a month.
The whole process of creating a card takes only a few minutes of time, but in the future it will be much easier and more comfortable for family members to pay in Yandex. For example, the authors of the family card believe that the new function will make it easier to pay for taxi rides or food delivery from Lavka, while older parents will find it much easier to make purchases on the Market. At the moment, company representatives said that it will be possible to use a family card in a variety of Yandex services: Market, Food, Taxi, Shop, Kinopoisk, Drive, Travel, Games and Delivery. In this case, the account owner can configure access to services by excluding something from this list.
It is worth noting that at the moment a family account supports participation of up to four people, but the company’s developers promise to increase the available number of participants. And to connect to a new card, users just need to have a confirmed phone number in their Yandex ID account – this is a mandatory requirement for notifications about purchases and for being able to request an increase in the card limit.
The family card is already available to some Yandex users – all the rest will have it a little later, since the deployment of the function takes time.
