The Yandex team announced the launch of a new convenient function for Yandex.Maps for metro passengers.
Now in Yandex.Maps, you can see the number of the exit from the metro, from which it is more convenient to get to your destination, and find out which carriage to board in order to be closer to this exit upon arrival at the station.
This information can be found in the public transport route details. If the route is with a transfer, Yandex.Maps will additionally indicate the most convenient carriage.
As the developers note, the new function will help you quickly navigate stations with a large number of exits and crossings, and build optimal routes that do not require unnecessary actions. This is especially true during peak times when the stations are overcrowded.
The new function has become available in the web version, desktop version, as well as mobile applications for iOS and Android. At the moment, you can use it in Moscow, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg. As the developers promise, other cities with the metro will be connected later.
