The Yandex search engine will be used by default on devices sold in Russia from January 1, 2022. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. According to the TASS news agency, Yandex Browser and Kaspersky Internet Security have also been included in the list of mandatory applications starting next year.
The list of domestic software, which should be preinstalled on smartphones, tablets, computers and TVs with the Smart TV function sold in Russia, was approved in August this year. Yandex services entered the category of browsers, search engines, navigation systems and cloud services, and in the category of social networks, news aggregators and email clients – Mail.ru services. The devices will also have an office suite “My Office”, “Gosuslugi” and a client of the “Mir” payment system.
