The Yandex team announced the launch of a new useful feature of the proprietary voice assistant. Now “Alisa” is able to make calls to the list of contacts from the Yandex and Yandex.Maps mobile applications.
As the developers explain, Alice’s help will come in handy in a situation where you cannot be distracted, but you need to call: for example, while driving or when caring for a child. It is enough to say: “Alice, call your mother” – and she will dial the number if you give her access to contacts. And also “Alice” knows how to call emergency services – for example, you can ask her to call an ambulance.
When there are two contacts with the same name in the list, “Alice” will specify exactly who needs to be called and which of the numbers, if several phone numbers are indicated in the contact card.
The voice assistant adapts to the user’s contact book, which helps to better recognize rare names and surnames – recorded in the address book both in Russian and in transliteration.
Calls with “Alice” using the list of contacts are available in the latest versions of Yandex and Yandex.Maps applications.
